Belton Cemetary Obituaries

Darlene Kirby, age 82, of Belton, died Monday.

She was born on April 2, 1935 in Cameron. Darlene was one of eleven children born to Chester and Velva (Crow) Clinard. She attended school in Cameron and Moody. On December 6, 1955, she married the love of her life, Tommie Kirby, in Cameron. Darlene was a devoted wife and loving mother to her eight children.Darlene worked hard to provide for her family. She worked at Crestview Manor Nursing Home for 14 years and then at Superior Chaircraft in Belton for 22 years until her retirement. Darlene faithfully worshiped and served the Lord as a member of First Baptist Church in Belton.Darlene's greatest love in life was her family, especially her grandchildren. Nothing gave her more pleasure than having her family together. She had a tender heart and loved to be there for you. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.Darlene also loved the Texas Rangers, she looked forward to attending a game whenever she could. When she wasn’t cheering for the Rangers she enjoyed bingo, watching game shows and working her puzzle books.She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Kirby and a son, Tommie Lee Kirby.Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Donald E. Kirby and wife Darla J., and Chester Leon Kirby and wife Eve all of Belton and William Kirby and wife Lisa of Zabcikville; daughters, Darla M. Kirby of Belton, Nancy Ann Sigers of Temple and Velva Johnson and husband Charles of Rogers; a step-daughter, Barbara Jean Howerton and husband Virgil of West Virginia; brothers, Gilbert Clinard and wife Billie Ruth, Ronnie Clinard and wife Elaine, Lonnie  Clinard and wife Ruby, Hulen Clinard and wife Janet and Raymond Clinard and wife Cricket; sisters, Hester Murrow and Barbara Bulls and husband Lewis; 17 beloved grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.Funeral services for Darlene will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Belton with Bro. Katherine PearsonOct. 11, 1931 - Aug. 1, 2017Katherine "Kay" Nell Pearson, 85, of Killeen passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at her residence. A visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 6, at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 7, at the funeral home, with Pastor David Leach and Pastor Don Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery in Belton.Kay was born on October 11, 1931, to Fred and Emma Lee in Waco. She was the children's department manager at Bealls for many years and sold Avon. She was a social butterfly and in the last few years she enjoyed working as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Killen on Lowes Blvd. Kay loved collecting angels, dancing with the TASA group, country music, and spending time with her family.
